The students of Grade IX participated in the much-anticipated on-campus Parents’ Walk-in on Friday, 14 August, 2026, with exceptional zeal, enthusiasm and confidence. The parents were accorded a warm and heartfelt welcome in the school courtyard with a melodious rendition of Western music. This was followed by a captivating skit, ‘Gurugram: Ek Jivant Gatha’, which beautifully portrayed the city’s rich heritage, cultural diversity, and evolving identity. The event was thoughtfully curated to showcase our students’ skills, knowledge, creativity and values, while keeping the school’s annual theme, Dharohar Prakriti, at its heart.
The students then moved into their respective subject groups, where they showcased their talents through a vibrant amalgamation of experiential learning, creativity and performance.
The English group brought Asha Nehemiah’s heart-warming short story Vitamin M to life through a delightful and humorous skit. The presentation beautifully highlighted the dignity, independence and wisdom of the elderly. Through Grandpa’s wit and resourcefulness, the students challenged the stereotypical notion that advancing age necessarily implies helplessness or diminished faculties. The affectionate bond between Ravi and his grandfather poignantly reflected the values of love, empathy, respect and intergenerational understanding. The presentation beautifully conveyed that respect, freedom, companionship and emotional support are the true forms of Vitamin M that enrich the lives of the elderly.
This was followed by a brief yet powerful skit, Awaaz-e-Heera-Moti, presented by the Hindi group. Centred on the themes of justice, equality, peace, and resistance to injustice and bullying, the performance delivered a compelling message about the courage to speak up and the responsibility to stand against wrongdoing. It emphasised the transformative power of an individual voice when it becomes part of a collective call for justice. The students excellently conveyed that young people must not remain passive spectators in the face of injustice, discrimination, or bullying, but should respond with courage, empathy, responsibility and peaceful action.
The German and Spanish groups conducted an engaging and interactive quiz that encouraged enthusiastic participation of the parents. The students also invited them to try their hand at pronouncing German and Spanish words, creating a lively atmosphere filled with curiosity and laughter. The parents participated wholeheartedly and thoroughly enjoyed this delightful linguistic experience. Adding a touch of international flair, the French group presented an elegant fashion show showcasing renowned French bag brands. The stylish presentation was enthusiastically received and greatly enjoyed by the parents.
The Science group was well-prepared with an impressive array of experiments and thought-provoking demonstrations. The Chemistry group conducted a series of experiments involving acids and bases, illustrating the relevance of chemistry to everyday life. They also explained the science behind acid reflux and demonstrated how antacids help neutralise excess stomach acid. Through these engaging demonstrations, the students transformed scientific concepts into meaningful, real-life learning experiences.
The Physics group then captivated the audience with an insightful exploration of sound waves. The students explained the role of vibrations in the production and transmission of sound and elucidated the concepts of friction and vibration. A well-executed demonstration of sound and echo further enriched the presentation, leaving the parents impressed by the students’ scientific acumen, confidence, and clarity of expression.
From the iconic bindi and retro polka dots to the mathematical elegance of radius, chord, circumference, sector, and segment, fashion and mathematics came full circle in a breathtaking celebration of geometric artistry. This formed the captivating theme of the Mathematics group’s presentation. The students mesmerised the audience with an energetic Hula Hoop dance, followed by an enchanting fashion show that seamlessly fused style with mathematical concepts. This was complemented by an engaging geometry-based activity that encouraged enthusiastic participation from the parents. The presentation was a vibrant testament to the students’ creativity, mathematical acumen, and ability to transform abstract concepts into an entertaining and memorable experience.
The Social Science group then took centre stage, drawing attention to the escalating impact of climate change and its increasingly far-reaching consequences. The students highlighted the growing role of young people in raising environmental awareness and inspiring communities to take meaningful action. Their presentation underscored the urgent need for collective responsibility and sustained efforts to address the multifaceted challenges posed by climate change. This was followed by an insightful panel discussion on the thought-provoking theme, Ailing Monuments, Fading Traditions: Can India’s Collective Consciousness Cure the Crisis of Our Heritage? The parents were invited to share their perspectives and valuable insights on preserving India’s tangible and intangible heritage. Their enthusiastic participation added depth and richness to the discussion, making it a truly collaborative and meaningful learning experience.
The IT group then unveiled the fascinating, often unseen journey of information — exploring how data travels, connects, and reaches us in an increasingly digitally interconnected world. The students engaged the parents through an interactive quiz, making the exploration of the digital world both informative and enjoyable. The programme culminated in a graceful dance rendition celebrating India’s rich cultural diversity, followed by soulful Sanskrit shlokas, bringing together the timeless beauty of tradition and the vibrant spirit of contemporary India.
A stall was set up by the Student entrepreneurship group to showcase and sell Healthy Crunch. This initiative provided students with an opportunity to experience entrepreneurship through a hands-on activity. The stall also reflected the spirit of Seva, as the initiative contributed towards the school’s Seva programme. It was a meaningful blend of entrepreneurship, social responsibility, and community service.
The Parents’ Walk-in concluded on a resounding note of joy, appreciation, and shared learning. The event beautifully blended academic knowledge with creativity, cultural expression, experiential learning, and meaningful interaction. It provided parents with a glimpse into the multifaceted talents of their children while creating cherished moments of participation and togetherness.
